Magdic Sets School Record As Presidents Close Season In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Junior Mike Magdic set a Washington & Jefferson College men's water polo single-season record with his 77th goal of the season Sunday, but W&J was nipped by Gannon 9-8 in the seventh-place match of the 2013 Southern Division Championships at the Naval Academy.

The Presidents' season finishes at 14-17 overall. The 14 victories were the second-most achieved in program history.  Magdic broke the goal record of 76 that was established in 2002 by W&J Hall of Famer Nemanja Kuzmanovic '03. Kuzmanovic closed his record-breaking career with 287 goals. Magdic had one goal Sunday in the loss to the Golden Knights.

Junior Carl Krause paced the Presidents with three goals, while freshmen Nick Willison and Patrick Fredrick both added a pair.
