GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Presidents dropped both contests at a Presidents' Athletic Conference tri-match at Grove City (3-2) with Thomas More (3-0).
With the losses, the Washington & Jefferson volleyball team drops to 11-6 overall this season and 5-5 in the PAC.
In the first match of the day against the Saints, the Presidents fell 25-19, 25-23, 25-23.
Against the Wolverines, the hosts won the first two sets, 25-18, 25-20 before W&J rallied for a 25-22 win in the third set and a 25-16 win in the fourth. Grove City captured the fifth and decisive set 15-8.
A trio of Presidents posted a team-best six kills,
Nicole Bishwaty,
Taylor Freeman and
Alexis Hilzendeger.
Megan Stoehr and
Emily Toy each posted 11 assists.
On defense,
Allison Means contributed a team-high 25 digs and Bishwaty was also in double digits at 13 digs.
Darby McMullen posted two blocks.
W&J returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, hosting Thiel at 7 p.m. at Henry Memorial Gymnasium.
