WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Presidents used a goal in each half to post a 2-0 shutout victory over Geneva in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Alexandre Stadium.
With the win, the Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team improves to 6-5-1 on the season with a 2-1 mark in PAC action. The Golden Tornadoes drop to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the PAC.
Molly Peddicord got W&J on the board with just 47 seconds remaining in the first half to break a 0-0 tie and score her first goal of the season. She dribbled through the box after a cross from
Abbey DeIuliis.
Tatiana Ruzzini added an insurance goal in the 75th minute off a pass from
Jess Skovira for her team-leading 10th goal of the year.
For the game, the Presidents posted a 26-11 edge on shots thanks to a 14-6 advantage in the second half.
Morgan Kinyon recorded her fourth shutout of the season to improve to 6-5-1 on the year while making five saves.
W&J returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 with a 4 p.m. PAC match at Chatham.
