GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Wolverines scored two goals in the first 4:41 of the game and didn't look back, topping the Presidents, 2-0, in conference play.
The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team falls to 5-9 on the season and 1-3 in the league with its third-straight defeat. Grove City improves to 9-4-1 and 4-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Jonathan Rothgeb scored both goals in the game's first five minutes as the first came just 1:26 into play off a save and rebound and the second goal occured just 3:15 later to stretch the early lead to 2-0 which stood up as the final.
Behind a balanced nine shots per half, Grove City led 18-9 on shots.
Brian Hanna and
Paul Boerema each posted two shots in the loss.
Jon Best made six saves in 90 minutes between the pipes.
