WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team earned its sixth-straight win with a 3-0 sweep at Waynesburg on Tuesday night.
With the win, the Presidents improve to 11-4, the best start since beginning 11-3 in 2007. W&J is also now 5-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets fall to 5-20 overall and 1-10 in league play.
Game scores were 25-8, 25-17 and 25-14 as the Presidents posted their eighth sweep of the season.
Nicole Bishwaty led all players with 13 kills, just two shy of Waynesburg's team total.
Taylor Freeman and
Alexis Hilzendeger each contributed six kills.
Megan Stoehr directed the offense for 21 assists and
Sarah Stedina posted a match-best two aces.
Defensively,
Lindsey Bennett recorded five blocks and Bishwaty added two blocks.
Allison Means posted a match-high 16 digs in the win.
The Presidents travel to Grove City on Saturday, Oct. 7 for a tri-match against the host Wolverines and Thomas More.
