LATROBE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team moved even in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on the season with a 1-0 shutout win at Saint Vincent.
The Presidents move to 1-1 in the league while improving to 5-6 overall in 2014. The Bearcats fall to 4-9 on the year and 0-1 in conference action.
Justin Nolfi scored the only goal of the match at the 30:24 mark, just over two minutes after he entered the contest.
Behind a 16-5 advantage in the second half, the host Bearcats held a 27-13 lead in shots.
Justin Carter led W&J with three shots while
James Calvert added a pair of shots.
Jon Best notched his first shutout of the season and 11th in his career, making 10 saves in 90 minutes.
W&J hosts Geneva on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium.
