LATROBE, Pa. -- The Presidents clinched a berth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament for the first time since 2010 with a 3-1 win at Saint Vincent.
The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team earned a 26-24, 20-25, 25-19, 26-24 win against the Bearcats to improve to 14-11 on the season and 8-10 in the PAC.
Taylor Freeman posted a match-high 17 kills, including a .354 hitting percentage, while
Nicole Bishwaty notched 14 kills.
Megan Stoehr and
Emily Toy collected 23 and 15 assists, respectively. Bishwaty had the lone two service aces for the Presidents.
Defensively,
Allison Means posted 41 digs while
Darby McMullen recorded four blocks and
Lindsey Bennett added three blocks.
The Presidents advance to the PAC quarterfinals as the No. 6 seed where they will travel to No. 3 Geneva for a 7 p.m. match-up on Tuesday.
