W&J to host clinic and Toys for Tots donation drive

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's basketball team will host a free girls basketball clinic on Sunday, Nov. 23, in conjunction with its annual Toys for Tots donation drive.

The clinic is scheduled for 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. in Henry Memorial Gymnasium, the home of the Presidents, and is open to grades 1-8.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn from the W&J women's basketball players and coaching staff and will be taught the fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and team work.

Participants are encouraged to bring a small holiday toy that will be donated to Toys for Tots.

Two days later when the Presidents host Allegheny College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, campers will be invited back to take in the game in their own special camper section. Each camper will receive a pass admitting them and two others free to the game.

Anyone planning on attending Tuesday's game is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game to be donated to Toys for Tots. Fans donating a toy to the drive will receive free admission to the night's contest.

For more information, please check out the clinic flier and game invitation, or contact women's basketball assistant coach Jason Rhine at jrhine@washjeff.edu or 724-503-1001 x3076.
