Box Score UTICA, New York -- Second-seeded St. John Fisher scored twice in the first half and eliminated third-seeded Washington & Jefferson following a 3-0 victory Saturday in the 2014 Empire 8 Conference Field Hockey Tournament semifinals at Utica College.

The Presidents' season comes to an end at 10-9, while the Cardinals (12-8) advance to Sunday's championship match versus the top-seeded Utica Pioneers.

Emily Markanian opened the scoring for the Cardinals with her 17th goal of the year 15 minutes into the contest.  Alexis Zakala added a goal 13 minutes later and SJF took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Markaian's second goal of the match made it a 3-0 game and the Cardinals cruised to their second win over the Presidents in the past two weeks.  SJF outshot W&J 12-2 and Morgan Brozena stopped four of the shots in goal for the Presidents.  Amanda Steffey had both W&J shot attempts, one in each half.

Following the tournament, Steffey and Aria DeSimini were named to the Empire 8 Field Hockey All-Tournament Team.
