WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Presidents opened up with a 3-2 loss against Westminster and closed the day with a 3-0 defeat against Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.
The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team falls to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in the PAC with the losses on the afternoon.Â
In the opener against the Titans, W&J won the first game 25-19 and then dropped the next two by scores of 25-14 and 25-17 before rallying for a 25-21 win in the fourth set. Westminster ultimately won the decisive fifth set, 15-10.
Lindsey Bennett led W&J with 12 kills while
Nicole Bishwaty added 11 and
Taylor Freeman was also in double figures with 10.
Megan Stoehr collected 25 assists and
Emily Toy tallied 14 helpers.
Allison Means recorded two of W&J's five aces.
Means also had the top dig total with 30 in the match. Bennett's four blocks were the best for the Presidents.
Scores in the Bethany match were 25-10, 25-15, 25-14. Bishwaty led the team with six kills. Defensively, Means had 12 digs and Bennett tallied five blocks.
W&J is back in action on Monday, Sept. 22, hosting Franciscan in a non-conference match-up at 7 p.m.
