WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team posted its third-straight shutout in a 3-0 win over Marietta in non-conference action at Alexandre Stadium.
The win moves the Presidents to .500 on the season at 4-4 with one non-conference game remaining on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Penn State-Altoona. The Pioneers drop to 0-9-1.
Morgan Kinyon stretched her scoreless streak to 294-plus minutes with seven saves in 90 minutes to improve to 4-4 on the year.
Tatiana Ruzzini had the second two-goal game of her rookie campaign and has now scored a goal in five of the last six games. Her first tally came 8:34 into the game on a through ball from
Josie Madden and her second score was in the 28th minute after she made a move to beat the defense and the keeper and tapped the ball into the net.
Hayley Skovira added a goal on a free kick with 12 seconds remaining to cap the scoring and send W&J to the 3-0 victory.
The Presidents posted a 19-11 lead on shots with Ruzzini collecting eight of them.
Megan Ochsenreiter totaled three shots and Skovira,
Mariah Lockard and
Lauren Virgin each added two shots.
