Seth Carr earned W&J five points at 125 with his 20-4 technical fall that took 4:46. The Spartans earned decisions in the next three classes to take a 9-5 lead into 157.
Samuel Florentino picked up his third pin of the season at 157, 22 seconds into the second period for a 3:22 total time, which gave W&J the lead back, 11-9. At 165,
Nick Carr remained unbeaten on the season at 16-0 despite being up from his normal 157 to earn a pin in just 51 seconds and push the margin to 17-9.
Sonnieboy Blanco picked up his 15th win of the season with a technical fall at the 6:19-mark at 174 as W&J led 22-9 through seven classes.
The Spartans earned a pin at 184 and picked up six points in an injury default at 197 before posting a fall with less than one second on the clock at 285 to score the 27-22 win.
W&J hosts Thiel on Wednesday, Jan. 28 for a 7 p.m. Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet, which will be the final home match of the year before the Presidents host the PAC Championships on Friday, Feb. 13.
