WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson men's soccer secured its first shutout and first Presidents' Athletic Conference win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Waynesburg.
Shots were held close with 16-15 in favor of the Presidents.
Paul Mokrzan and
Justin Nolfi led on the attack with four shots each, while
Tyler Rapposelli contributed two.
W&J scored its first goal thanks to a rebound chipped in by
Samuel Dudley for his second goal of the season off an initial shot by
Matt Kotkiewicz.
To complete the 2-0 lead, Mokrzan headed in the second goal of the game, assisted by
Jason Menni, just minutes into the second half, around the 48:00-mark.
In net,
Benny Wilt was able to keep Waynesburg scoreless with eight saves, moving his record as well as the team's to 6-5-1 on the season and 1-2-0 in the PAC.
The Presidents will continue PAC play as they travel to Bethany on Oct. 17 and take on the Bison at 3:30 pm.
