BETHANY, W.Va – Washington & Jefferson took on Bethany and won 3-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference men's soccer match up at Bison Field.
W&J led in shots, 14-9, with
Benny Wilt anchored in net making six saves.
During the first half, the Presidents took seven shots, turning two of them into goals.
Justin Nolfi notched the first, unassisted, at 15:50.
Bethany then answered back at 21:23 to tie it up 1-1.
To wrap-up the first period,
Paul Mokrzan was assisted by
Jason Menni in scoring a goal at 34:59 for the Presidents to take the lead.
The second half brought seven more shots by W&J, with
Tyler Rapposelli finding the back of the net at 51:25 thanks to help from
Alex Blout.
Menni, Rapposelli, and Nolfi each turned one of their three shots into goals, with all three of Rapposelli's shots landing on-target.
The win brings the Presidents' overall record to 7-5-2 and 2-2-0 in the conference, while Bethany drops to a total of 5-8-2 and a conference record of 1-2-1.
The Presidents will take on Thiel next on Oct. 20 at 5:00 pm in Greenville, Pa.
