Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

W&J improves to 3-2 in the PAC with 4-0 win at Thiel

GREENVILLE, PA. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team picked up a 4-0 win on the road at Thiel.

With the win, the Presidents move to 8-5-2 overall and to a Presidents' Athletic Conference record of 3-2-0. The Tomcats now fall to 2-12-0 in their season and 0-4-1 in conference play.

In its fourth shutout of the season, W&J led in shots 39-5, with 17 of them landing on-target. This is the most shots the Presidents have taken since October 9, 2002 when W&J had 39 shots versus Waynesburg.

At only 6:55 into the game, Justin Nolfi found the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season with help from Tyler Rapposelli.

Jason Menni then assisted Paul Mokrzan in scoring his fourth of the year at 19:34 to increase the Presidents' lead to 2-0.

Early into the second half at 48:18 Nolfi notched his second of the game while Rapposelli was there with the assist once again.

The Presidents continued to extend their lead when Scott Hanna assisted Justin Carter at 63:27 in scoring W&J's fourth of the game, giving them their 4-0 final score.

The defense only allowed Thiel to have two shots on goal, which Benny Wilt saved, giving him his fourth shutout of the season.

The Presidents will return to Alexandre Stadium and faceoff against Saint Vincent on Senior Day, Oct. 24 at 3:00 pm.
