How it Happened: Washington & Jefferson fell 19-10 against California Lutheran in its first matchup of the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament. Cal Lutheran was able to command the match early, with a 7-2 lead after the first quarter that the Presidents couldn't recover from.

Top Performers:  Offensively, Nicholas Willison led the way for the Presidents with four goals, posting two in the fourth quarter. Ben McGrath and Collin Higgins each found the back of the net twice, with back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter.

The Rest: In net, Mac Hennessy defended with three blocks, while Patrick Fredrick and Brent Trewhella each posted a goal.

How it Happened: The second match of the day for Washington & Jefferson resulted in a 15-5 loss against Chapman, giving the Presidents a 0-2 record in the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament so far. 

Top Performers:  Continuing in net, Hennessy made 14 saves. On the attack, Fredrick notched a goal in the first, second, and third quarters. 

The Rest: Willison continued contributing with two goals for the Presidents, one in the first and another in the second. 

What's Next: W&J will continue in the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament and face-off against Redlands on Oct. 3 at 11:30 am PDT/2:30 pm EDT.
