GREENVILLE, PA. – In its ninth shutout of the season, Washington & Jefferson defeated Thiel 9-0.

With the final score, the Presidents have now outscored their last four opponents with a combined 27-1.

To open scoring at 5:17 in the match, Alexa Harris tallied her first career goal with help from Josie Madden.

Shortly after, at 6:56, Nicole Walters found the back of the Tomcats' net, with Madden contributing her second assist of the night.

Following her two assists, Madden then secured a goal of her own thanks to help from Ashton Grimm at 16:54.

Madden then continued contributing to the Presidents' attack when she assisted on Jordan Toohey's 25th goal this season.

With her goal and two assists, Madden tied her career high of five points (1G, 3A) that she had previously recorded on November 1, 2014 against Thiel, giving her 10 points (2G, 6A) in two career games versus the Tomcats.

Only a few minutes later, Grimm was able to sneak past Thiel's keeper unassisted at 26:48.

Walters secured her second goal with an assist by Toohey to give the Presidents a 6-0 lead to end the first half.

34 seconds into the second half, W&J posted another. This time a goal from Lockard, with Toohey tallying her second assist of the game. Â

Grimm had her second assist of the game when, at 56:11, she helped Lockard score her second in a row.

The two goals match Lockard's career high, having previously scored two versus Franciscan on September 21, 2013.

At 83:05 Grimm was once again on the assist while Molly Peddicord scored the final goal, giving the Presidents their shutout score of 9-0.

The Presidents led in shots 28-3, with their defense only allowing one shot on goal. Maddie Potter was in the cage, making the save and with the win she moves to a record of 4-0 with four shutouts in her four starts so far this season.

The win moves the Presidents to an overall record of 12-1-1 and a Presidents' Athletic Conference record of 6-0-0 just as they return to Alexandre Stadium to take on Saint Vincent for Senior Day on Oct. 24 at 1:00 pm.
