WASHINGTON, Pa. -- In a match that went to five sets, Washington & Jefferson secured the 3-2 win against Westminster in a double-header in Grove City, Pa.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22, 15-13.
Offensively,
Nicole Bishwaty led with 15 kills and 27 assists.
Taylor Freeman posted 15 kills as well, while
Emily Toy tallied 23 assists.
Madison Lydic helped on offense with 10 kills.
On defense,
Allison Means had 29 digs and
Abigail Eich contributed four blocks. Bishwaty also added defensively with 14 digs,while
Sarah Dindak had 13 of her own.
In the second matchup of the day, W&J took on the host, Grove City, and fell 3-1 with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-9.
The Presidents kept it close, defending with 28 digs from
Allison Means and 13 from both Bishwaty and Dindak.
Strong on the offensive once again was Bishwaty with nine kills and 13 assists and Toy with 15 assists, but it was
Brooke Lininger who led with 10 kills and four assists.
The Presidents will return home to play Thomas More on Oct. 7 at 7:00 pm.
