WASHINGTON, Pa. - Head coach
Pete Curtis moved his overall record at Washington & Jefferson to 100-59-12, in his ninth season with the Presidents, following a 4-0 shutout victory in the first Presidents' Athletic Conference match of the season.
W&J extends its' scoreless streak to 406:48 and accomplishes its' fourth shutout in a row with the win thanks to the help of
Allison Rinehimer's (4-1-1) two saves in net.
The Presidents led in shots, 28-3, with
Jordan Toohey on board first with a chip into the left side of the net following an assist from
Josie Madden.
In the second half, at 75:56,
Tatiana Ruzzini received a pass from
Jillian Bartman to pull the Presidents ahead, 2-0.
W&J continued the lead with Toohey's 15th goal of the season with a short knock past Chatham's keeper, thanks to an assist from
Brianna Floryshak.
Floryshak notched another assist when
Hayley Skovira took a pass from her to shoot a top shelf goal from 35 yards out to give the Presidents their 4-0 score at 86:16.
The Presidents will look to continue their streak against Grove City on Oct. 7 at 5:30 pm at Alexandre Stadium.
