HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- In a defensive battle that saw just eight shots recorded between the two teams, Washington & Jefferson suffered a 2-0 defeat at Juniata.
The loss drops the Presidents to 4-6 on the field hockey season, while the Golden Eagles improve to 6-4.
A pair of first-half goals by the home team were the difference, as Juniata was able to find the back of the net twice in the opening 35 minutes.
Kelly Knisel led the game with four shots, while
Amanda Steffey added the additional attempt.
The Presidents return to Empire 8 play this weekend when it travels to Utica and Elmira on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
