WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Four Presidents scored in double figures as the Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team cruised to an 88-64 league win against Geneva.
With the win, W&J moves to 16-4 on the season and 10-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. The Golden Tornadoes slip to 4-16 overall and 2-11 in league match-ups.
Beka Bellhy scored 19 points and matched her career high with seven assists. She had previously reached the mark on February 8 of last season against Thomas More. The junior also pulled in seven rebounds in just 22 minutes.
Taylor Cortazzo finished with 16 points on five-of-six shooting.
Danni Medovich and
Alexa DelGreco each reached double digits with 13 and 12 points, respectively. DelGreco was second on the team with four assists and tied for the game-high with four steals.Â
In the contest, W&J connected on exactly 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from the field and 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) from beyond-the-arc. The Presidents also dished out a season-best 25 assists on their 30 made field goals.
W&J travels to Waynesburg on Saturday, Feb. 7 for a 1:30 p.m. meeting with the Yellow Jackets where the Presidents will look to avenge a 79-74 loss earlier in the season.
