Gators top Presidents at Alexandre Stadium 20-10

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Caroline Kallos scored five goals, but Allegheny jumped out to a 13-4 halftime lead and defeated Washington & Jefferson 20-10 in non-conference women's lacrosse action Wednesday at Alexandre Stadium.

The Gators (2-1) outshot W&J (1-1) by a 43-22 margin and received five goals and five assists from McKenzie Bell.  Shelby Piper added four goals and three assists.  Piper delivered the first two Gator goals and Allegheny built a 6-0 lead.

After trailing by nine at halftime, the Presidents closed to within 15-8 with 21:14 remaining after a goal by Ashley Bulger, but that was as close as the hosts would get.  Bulger finished with a team-high three assists to go along with three goals.

Three different Allegheny goalies combined to make eight saves.  Kelsey Roetenberg made 20 stops in goal for W&J.  Kallos and Alex Dikos led the Presidents with five draw controls.

W&J heads south during spring break for games in North Carolina versus Methodist (March 15, 1:00 pm) and Greensboro (March 18, 3:00 pm).
