ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --
Jacob Succop took over the single-season saves record in program history as W&J was unable to recover from a six-goal first quarter by Elizabethtown in a 12-5 Landmark Conference loss.
With the loss, Washington & Jefferson falls to 8-7 on the season and 1-5 in Landmark play. Etown improves to 13-2 this year and a perfect 6-0 in conference matches.
Succop made 12 saves in the loss, giving him 208 on the season, to move past Ran Kirby's mark of 200 from 2012.
Two of the Presidents goals came in man-up situations and
Luke Georgi and
Bryan Whipkey each collected a pair of goals, with Whipkey also tallying an assist.
Ryan Quan won nine face-offs and picked up a team-best seven ground balls.
W&J closes out the 2015 campaign with its final Landmark Conference contest on Sunday, April 26 when it hosts the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 1 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium for Senior Day. It will be the last game as a member of the Landmark for W&J, who will move to the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference in 2016.
