By Danielle Kochka, Sports Information AssistantALLIANCE, Ohio -- Despite firing off 14 shots, six of which were on goal, the Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team could not best Mount Union in a 0-0 tie that ended after two overtimes.

Several players on the team contributed in the fight to get the edge in this match.
Jason Menni led the charge with three shots in the game.
Samuel Dudley,
Scott Hanna,
Garrett French and
Matt Kotkiewicz were close behind him with two shots apiece.
Tyler Rapposelli,
Jason Yobbi and
Justin Nolfi also added to the efforts with one shot each. Goalkeeper
Benny Wilt kept the Raiders at bay with 4 saves, allowing the match to remain scoreless.

At the end of regulation, the score was still 0-0. Mount Union came out strong in overtime, with three shots in the first three minutes. W&J weathered their surge and sent the match to a second overtime period, where Kotkiewicz had the only shot of the period in an attempt to put the match away for the Presidents. However, it was just wide and the match ended without seeing anyone score a goal.

The Presidents move to 2-1-1 on the season, whereas Mount Union's record moves to 1-1-1. The W&J men's soccer team travels to La Roche to take on the Redhawks on Wednesday, September 16, at 4pm.
