How it Happened: In the only home matchup of the season, Washington & Jefferson men's water polo fought a close battle against Monmouth, capturing the win with a score of 17-16. The Presidents were able to remain in the lead each quarter and defensively held on, even when the Fighting Scots scored three goals in the last minute and a half of the game. The win brings the W&J record up to 4-2.
Top Performers: During the first quarter,
Nicholas Willison helped put the team up 7-5 by contributing five goals. He went on to score one in the third and another in the fourth, tallying seven of the total 17.
The Rest: Patrick Fredrick,
Owen Hanna,
Benjamin McGrath, and
Brent Trewhella all scored two goals throughout the course of the match.
Gordy Schroeder and
Joshua Emde both contributed to the win with a goal each.
