HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens took a two goal lead in the first half and held onto it to win the game as it defeated the Washington & Jefferson field hockey team 2-0 at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
With the loss, the Presidents fall to 4-5 on the season while the Ducks move their record to 6-2.
Stevens opened the scoring, with Dailyn Brook making her fifth of the season at 19:35. The Ducks added to this shortly after at 21:15 with a tip-in.
On offense, Kelly Knisel led the Presidents in shots with four, while Kelsey Bowman added two.
Morgan Brozena made eight saves, with some help from Shelby Howell who tallied a defensive save in the second half, her third of the season.
W&J will remain on the road as they travel to Huntingdon, Pa. for a nonconference matchup against Juniata on Oct. 3 at 7:00 pm.
