Men's Water Polo finishes 2-1 in Erie

Opponent: Mercyhurst
Result: L, 11-10
 
How it Happened: Washington & Jefferson faced-off against Mercyhurst for their first match of three on the road in Erie. Although the Presidents kept it close, they were defeated with a score of 11-10.
 
Top Performers:
Offensively, Patrick Fredrick led the team in goals with four, with Brent Trewhella shooting and scoring three.
 
The Rest: Benjamin McGrath posted two goals of his own, while Nicholas Willison tallied one. The President's goalkeeper, Mac Hennessy, made ten blocks.

Result: W, 13-11
 
How it Happened: The second matchup of the day was against Gannon and ended in a 13-11 win for the Presidents.
 
Top Performers: Hennessy remained in net and made 14 blocks. Fredrick once again commanded the attack by posting eight goals.
 
The Rest: Nicholas Willison and Brent Trewhella posted two each and Gordy Schroeder added one to the victory.

Opponent: Penn State Behrend
Result: W, 16-12
 
How it Happened: The final match of the day consisted of a 16-12 victory for W&J against Penn State Behrend.  
 
Top Performers: Finishing with a strong performance on the day, Fredrick continued to lead the way in offensive contributions, this time with four goals. Freshman, Zach Bacchus started in goal and made ten saves during the first three quarters for the Presidents.
 
The Rest: Nicholas Willison, Tyler Willison and Trewhella each added two to the score. Raunak Doshi and Collin Higgins both tallied one. In the fourth quarter, Ryan Kierstan defended the team in next with two blocks.

What's Next: The Washington & Jefferson men's water polo team will travel all the way to California to take on Caltech in Pasedena on Oct. 1 and then continue on to Claremont, Calif. to compete in the Gary Troyer Tournament Oct. 2-3.
