WASHINGTON, Pa. -- W&J took a commanding lead with the help of the first goals of the season for several of the team's players, including first career goals for
Jason Yobbi,
Matt Kotkiewicz and
Tancrede Bugis in a 5-1 win over Pitt-Greensburg at Alexandre Stadium.

Yobbi put W&J on the board with a direct kick into the goal, unassisted, from 30 yards out just 14:15 into the match.

Almost two minutes later, the Bobcats tallied their only goal of the game at 16:12 to tie up the game at 1-1.

Justin Carter then helped W&J take the lead for good on a header just inside the near post to mark his first of the season, following a cross from
Jason Menni that came from past the other side of the box.

This was able to turn the momentum in Washington & Jefferson's favor. Before the half, Bugis chipped in a rebound from a save into the lower right corner of the goal at 37:13, putting the Presidents ahead 3-1.

Returning from the half,
Samuel Dudley then buried a goal assisted by a cross from Yobbi and a short pass from Kotkiewicz at 59:55.

The final goal was a double touch through the box by Kotkiewicz assisted by Menni and
Michael DeSabato bringing the final score to 5-1.
Benny Wilt improved to 2-1 on the season, making one save in 70:53, before yielding way to
Nick Stasko who made his first collegiate appearance in playing the final 19:07.

Washington & Jefferson men's soccer will hit the road to Mount Union in their next match in Alliance, Ohio at 3:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 12.Â
