Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

W&J stung by Yellow Jackets, 70-58

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team fell to Waynesburg, 70-58, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.

Despite the Yellow Jackets opening scoring, the Presidents were quick to respond with two good free throws by Christian Rohaus. Waynesburg held onto the lead throughout the half, but W&J maintained composure, with Brian Graytok landing a layup with 00:18 left to go in the half to tie the score at 32-32.

The Presidents carried this momentum into the second half, taking the lead on two separate occasions, the first being a team-high four point margin following a layup by Brian Lindquist at 15:52. The two teams were tied, 50-50, at 4:47 when Timmy Kaiser of Waynesburg completed a free throw, giving the Yellow Jackets the lead that they would hold for the rest of the game.

Graytok finished with a game-best 21 points, his sixth-straight game in double figures and 10th time in 11 games, while Lindquist brought down a game-best 13 rebounds. Buarne contributed 12 points.

W&J will host Geneva on January 6, at 8:00 pm.
