Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

13 Presidents score in 83-55 victory over Westminster

By Danielle Kochka, Sports Information Assistant

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team cruised past Westminster with an 83-55 victory. A well-balanced effort was the highlight of this game thanks to scoring by 13 Presidents.

W&J jumped out of the gate, acquiring and keeping a comfortable lead in the first quarter that would remain for the entire game. Amirah Moore's eight first-quarter points helped propel the Presidents into that position.

Two Presidents reached double figures in the contest. Moore led the team, finishing the game with 14 points. Katey Wilson set a new career-high, collecting 11 points of her own in the contest. Wilson was also a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line.

The Presidents move to 13-3 overall and 8-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. They will remain on the road to take on Grove City in another PAC matchup on Saturday, January 23, at 1pm.
