W&J falls to Bethany in overtime, 3-2

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team fell to Bethany, 3-2, in overtime to fall to 4-6-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15.

Justin Carter (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) put W&J ahead in the 12th minute when he redirected a shot by Jason Menni (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) inside the left post after Menni fired his shot from about 15 yards out. Seven minutes later, Justin Nofli (Irwin, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) extended the lead to 2-0 when he found some space in the middle of the field, about 22 yards out, and fired a shot to the top left corner of the goal.

The Bison got on the board in the 40th minute, thanks to Daniel Booth, but the Presidents still led 2-1 at the break.

With 2:11 remaining in the game, Babocour Sallah-Mohammed tied the game after dribbling around a defender in the box and finishing to the center of the net from about 12 yards.
