WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team improved to 10-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-17) sweep of Grove City.

The victory guarantees W&J a winning record in league play for the first time since finishing 10-4 in 2009. It also improves the Presidents to 17-7 on the year, the program's most wins since 2008 when W&J ended the season 17-15 overall. Grove City drops to 10-16 overall and 7-7 in the PAC.

Madison Lydic (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) and her .400 hitting percentage led the attack by recording 10 kills. Julia Bernesser (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) was next with eight kills, while Lexi Hilzendeger (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) and Abbey Eich (Greencastle, Pa./St. Maria Goretti (Md.)) turned in seven and six kills, respectively.

Defensively, Allison Means (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area) moved within 15 digs of second place on the W&J career list with 25 on the night. She now stands at 1,773 for her career. Taylor Freeman (Cresson, Pa./Penn Cambria) was also in double figures with 13 digs and O'Brien added seven.
