GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team defeated Grove City, 3-2, to improve to 7-3-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5.

After surrendering a goal in the fifth minute,
Josie Madden (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) brought the game back even with her fifth goal of the season in the 25th minute.
Tatiana Ruzzini (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) gave the Presidents the lead in the 33rd minute after dribbling through the defense for her eighth goal of the year.

Ruzzini struck again in the 39th minute, her second multi-goal game of the season, on an assist from Madden to give the Presidents a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.

The Wolverines were able to pull to within one goal in the 71st minute, but solid defensive play from the Presidents down the stretch sealed the win.

Allison Rinehimer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) (5-3-2) earned the win in net for W&J as she made six saves in 90 minutes of action. Trishae Winters (8-3) took the loss in net for Grove City, making five saves.
As a team, W&J was able to get 15 shots off and put eight of them on goal.

The Presidents return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 8, when they host Geneva in PAC action at 3 p.m.
