WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team defeated Earlham, 77-61, in the consolation game of the SpringHill Suites Tournament in Henry Gym on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19.
Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led the Presidents' offense with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, including 1-for-1 from long range and 5-for-6 at the free throw line, to go along with five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Alyssa Riley (North Ridge, Ohio/North Ridgeville) provided a strong performance off the bench as the sophomore tallied 14 points, including 3-for-7 on three-pointers, and four rebounds.
Mia Woytovich (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) scored 10 points on 3-for-7 shooting with five rebounds and a steal while
Amirah Moore (Moon Twp., Pa./Moon) also scored 10 points to go along with six boards, four dimes and four steals. Moore was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 4.0 steals for the weekend.
Mya Gordon (Washington, Pa./Washington) made her presence felt on defense as she finished with a game-high 10 rebounds and four blocks.
For the game, the Presidents held advantages in points in the paint (24-20), points off turnovers (28-6) and bench points (37-14) while forcing more turnovers (23-12) and connecting on 22-of-28 free throw attempts.
The Presidents will get back on the court on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they host Allegheny in a 6 pm nonconference matchup.
