W&J handles Westminster, 89-72, to improve to 3-0 in the PAC

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team got 20-point performances from Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and Amirah Moore (Moon Twp., Pa./Moon) to deal Westminster an 89-72 Presidents' Athletic Conference loss.

The victory improves the Presidents to 5-2 overall and an unblemished 3-0 in the PAC. The Titans fall to an even 4-4 this season, but remain winless in league play at 0-3.

Parker led all players with a career-best 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. The sophomore also added eight rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists in 28 minutes of play. Moore finished one point shy of her season- and career-bests, turning in 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting. She also dished out six helpers and grabbed four steals in the win.

In her first career start, Mia Woytovich (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) had a balanced stat line with five points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals. Alyssa Riley (North Ridge, Ohio/North Ridgeville) reached double figures for the second time this season, chipping in 12 points thanks to a trio of triples.

W&J committed just eight turnovers, but forced 22 Westminster turnovers which led to 21 points.

W&J will be off until hosting Marietta on Tuesday, Dec. 20 for a 4 p.m. nonconference tip at the Henry Memorial Center.
