Kyle Heinig scored three goals as the Washington & Jefferson men's lacrosse team drops to 1-5 on the year with an 18-6 loss at Capital.

W&J opened up the game aggressively with two goals by Heinig, recording his 16th and 17th scores of the year. After the Presidents controlled most of the first quarter, the Crusaders would conclude the first quarter on a 3-0 run. The rest of the half was controlled by Capital featuring the team ending the second period by adding seven unanswered goals, holding a 10-2 lead at intermission.

The Presidents rebounded in the second half with goals by
Matt Densford, another by Heinig and two tallies from
Bryan Whipkey. Although W&J reduced the deficit, they could not overcome the eight goal second half by the Crusaders.
Heinig recorded his fifth multi-goal game of the season in the loss and moves his goal total to 18 on the season.

Jacob Succop made 12 saves in cage in the loss.

W&J's next contest will be the first Ohio River Lacrosse Conference in program history when the Presidents welcome Hanover to Alexandre Stadium for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, March 19.
