CLERMONT, Fla. – Washington & Jefferson's softball showing in Florida came to a close with a 7-6 loss to Benedictine (Ill.), who was picked to finish second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, and an 8-2 dropped decision to University of Saint Thomas (Minn.), voted to finish first in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll.
Six Presidents were able to score runs in the first matchup of the day.

Ally Doty batted in by Marx. In the top of the third inning, the Presidents reached home four times. Watson ran in first, thanks to a single down the right field line by

Nicole Ashcraft, Andres and
Logann Woodley. The bottom of the fifth saw Benedictine tie the game, with the Eagles pulling ahead, 7-6, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Marx and Doty once again tallied runs, this time in the second game of the day against University of Saint Thomas.
