WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team tied Roanoke, 0-0, in double overtime on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24.
The Presidents controlled the tempo of the game throughout regulation and the first overtime as they got off 13 shots and put eight on goal, compared to seven shots from the Maroons and three on goal.
Jordan Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant/Saint Francis (Pa.)) totaled five shots and put four on goal, both game-highs, and was able to put two shots on goal in the first overtime period.
Tatiana Ruzzini (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) got three shots off and put one on goal while
Josie Madden (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward),
Brianna Floryshak (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) and
Aundrea Snyder (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Central Christian) also recorded a shot on goal each.
Allison Rinehimer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) (3-2-2) played all 110 minutes in net for the Presidents and made seven saves, including four in the second overtime period. Chris Martin (1-2-2) played all 110 minutes in net for the Maroons and made eight saves.
The Presidents return to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 29, when they travel to Penn State-Altoona at 6 p.m. for their final nonconference matchup of the season.
