GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team suffered its first defeat of the new year, a 70-52 decision at Grove City on Tuesday night, Jan. 3.
Brian Graytok (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) broke into double figures for the sixth time this season, leading the Presidents' offense with 13 points and connecting on 2-of-3 long range jumpers while also contributing three assists and a steal.
Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequa Valley) finished with 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field, his eighth double-digit scoring effort of the season and fourth straight. Lindquist also grabbed eight rebounds to tie a season high in addition to a block and a steal.
Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) contributed eight points, five rebounds and two blocks.
The Presidents limited the Wolverines to 1-of-11 shooting from long range for the game while holding an advantage in offensive rebounds, 13-10, which led to a 10-9 edge in second chance points.
W&J will get back on the hardwood on Thursday, Jan. 5, when they host Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at 8 p.m.
