GREENVILLE, Pa. – With two goals just over a minute apart within the final eight minutes of the game, the Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team moved past Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference road action on Monday, Oct. 16.
The Presidents' win lifts their overall record to 8-5 and gives them their first PAC win of the season (1-3) while the Tomcats fall to 4-8-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference.
Just 63 seconds after the game was tied at 1-1,
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) gave the Presidents their first lead of the game of a feed from
Matt Kotkiewicz (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park). The goal was Prezioso's third of the season, the third most on the team, and Kotkiewicz's team-leading fourth helper.
Trailing 1-0 with time beginning to wind down in regulation,
Jason Yobbi (South Park, Pa./South Park) sent in a free kick which was then booted past the Thiel keeper by
Jacob Fetterman (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) for the 83rd-minute equalizer, his fourth score of the season.
The Tomcats took the first lead of the game with a goal in the 42nd minute.
Prezioso led all Presidents with eight total shots in the game and put five on target while
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) finished up with six shots and two on goal. Fetterman, Kotkiewicz and

Four other Presidents tallied shots in the contest to give the Presidents 33 total shots in the game, the second most in a match this season (42 shots at Hilbert on Sept. 9), as 15 of the 33 attempts were on goal.
Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) earned his eighth win of the season as the W&J keeper and made one save in 90 minutes of action aided by his defensive unit which did not surrender a single shot in the second half.
The Presidents will return home for their next match on Wednesday, Oct. 18, to face Saint Vincent in a 5:30 PAC showdown.
