WASHINGTON, Pa. – With just under one minute remaining in regulation,
Jason Yobbi (South Park, Pa./South Park) scored his second goal of the game to give the Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team a 2-1 win over Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night, Oct. 25.

The Presidents improve to 10-6 overall with the win and 3-4 in PAC play while the Bison fall to 8-8-2 on the season with a 2-3-2 record in conference.

With time winding down in regulation and the match tied, 1-1,
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) fired a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar straight to the foot of Yobbi who put the ball in the back of the net with 58 seconds to go to put W&J ahead for good.

Trailing 1-0 through one half of play, the Presidents were awarded a penalty kick in the 59th minute following a foul in the box. Yobbi stepped up and deposited his shot past the keeper to equalize.

The Bison took the first lead of the game in the eighth minute after a free kick led to a shot from short range.

Yobbi's two goals at Bethany marked his second career multi-goal game and gives him three scores this season. Out of his three shots in the match, he scored both of his shots that finished on goal.

Prezioso's assist tied
Matt Kotkiewicz (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) for the team lead (4) as Prezioso tallied three shots on the night, all on goal.
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) was the third Presidents to finish with multiple shots on the goal, with two of four attempts being on target.

Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) made five saves in the match to earn his 10th win of the season.

Both teams totaled 16 shots in the match, but the Presidents held a 12-8 advantage in the second half while holding an 8-6 edge in shots on goal.

W&J will close its regular season on Saturday, Oct. 28, when it hosts Waynesburg in a final PAC showdown scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with Senior Day festivities taking place prior to the beginning of the match.
