CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 loss at Thomas More on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The loss ends the Presidents' seven-game winning streak and drops them to 7-3 overall this season with a 0-1 record in the PAC while the Saints improve to 6-4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.

The Saints struck first with a goal in the 41st minute, their ninth shot of the half and second on goal. The Presidents were able to put three out of four shots on goal in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net.

In the second half, Thomas More started to pull away as it scored two goals within four minutes of each other in the 53rd and 57th minutes, ending W&J's winning streak.

Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson),
Aleksandr DeHaven (Tampa, Fla./Plant),
Sam Dudley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and
Michael DeSabato (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) all finished with one shot in the game with Prezioso, DeHaven and Dudley putting their shots on goal.

Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) took the loss as the Presidents' keeper as he stopped five of eight shots on goal from the Saints.

The Presidents will return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 6, for a home PAC match against Grove City at 7:30 p.m.
