WASHINGTON, Pa. – After winning the first two sets, both Washington & Jefferson and Bethany battled back and forth throughout the third to fifth sets, but the Bison emerged victorious, 3-2 (18-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-12), on Wednesday night, Oct. 4, in Presidents' Athletic Conference volleyball action.

The Presidents fall to 7-8 overall with an even 5-5 mark in the PAC while the Bison improve to 13-7 overall and 6-2 among conference opponents.

Madison Lydic (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) led W&J with 14 kills on a .238 hitting percentage and also contributed four total blocks on defense.
Julia Bernesser (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) tallied 12 kills in the match to go along with 10 digs and
Abbey Eich (Greencastle, Pa./St. Maria Goretti (Md.)) finished with 10 kills to round out the trio of Presidents with double-digit kills. Eich hit to a percentage of .258 in the match and led the team with three service aces.

Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) totaled 39 assists on the night, the 12th time this season in which she has amassed 30 assists in a match. O'Brien also had 20 digs and finished off 5-of-11 attacks.
Makenzie Coughlin (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) led the way with 26 digs while
Katie Conner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) tallied 18 and
Julia Galbraith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) finished with 13.

The Presidents will return to the court for their final nonconference match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they travel to Franciscan at 2:00 p.m.
