BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference play with an 82-48 win over Geneva on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The win improves the Presidents to 3-0 on the season, while the Golden Tornadoes move to 1-2 overall.

After Geneva tied the game at 18, seven seconds into the second quarter, W&J went on a 16-3 run, in which the Presidents went 7-for-10 from the field, highlighted by six points from
Lauren Gilbert (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and four points courtesy of
Amirah Moore (Moon Township, Pa./Moon). The run was the first part of a 26-6 run to close out the first half that put the score at 44-24.

The Presidents outscored the Golden Tornadoes 38-24 in the second half, including two 7-0 streaks.

Moore led the offense with 18 points and three assists as she shot 8-of-11. Gilbert added 15 more points, as well as five assists and a three-pointer.
Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillian) finished with 14 points on 10 shots and pulled in seven boards.

Mya Gordon (Washington, Pa./Washington) contributed eight points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds while
Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) collected 10 rebounds and shot six-of-seven from the free throw line.

In total, W&J held a 48-30 advantage in rebounds and led 10-5 in steals.

The Presidents will return to the court on Saturday, Nov. 25 when they travel to Allegheny, with tip-off in the nonconference clash set for 1:00 p.m.
