Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse winning streak reaches nine at Franciscan, 12-8

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Washington & Jefferson ran its winning streak to nine matches with a 12-8 nonconference women's lacrosse victory at Franciscan.

W&J improves to 10-4 overall behind its nine-straight victories, while the Presidents snapped the Barons' six-game winning streak by dealing Franciscan its lone loss of April.

The trio of Monica Ewansik (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland), Rae LaRochelle (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) and Caroline Kallos (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) combined for 12 points and 11 of W&J's 12 goals on the afternoon. Ewansik led all players with five goals, while LaRochelle (four points) and Kallos both chipped in hat tricks. Lauren Brown (Novi, Mich./Novi) paced the assist column with three helpers.

Allison Onslow (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) scooped up a game- and season-high seven ground balls, matching her career best from last season's Ohio River Lacrosse Conference semifinal game against Mount St. Joseph. She also established a new career best with eight caused turnovers.

Kallos also picked up five ground balls and caused three turnovers, stretching her new W&J single-season record total of CTs to 47.

Sara Maute (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J Roberts) made four saves in the first half to pick up the win and improve to 2-1. Michaela Mulokey (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) turned away six shots in the second half.

W&J closes out ORLC play and the regular season at Thiel on Saturday, April 29 with a 1 p.m. match.
