WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson emerged from Presidents' Athletic Conference volleyball action at Waynesburg with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-13) victory.
The win improves the Presidents to 3-5 this season and 2-2 in league matches. The Yellow Jackets drop to 1-9 overall and 0-3 within the conference.
Madison Lydic (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) recorded a match high nine kills with a .364 hitting percentage, while
Morgan Jacques (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Science & Technology Academy) was right behind with eight kills and a blistering .467 hitting percentage. The two also combined for nine blocks, with Lydic accounting for five and Jacques four.
Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) again led in assists at 27, plus added two of W&J's four service aces, joined by
Julia Galbraith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) with the other two. O'Brien paced the Presidents with 11 digs, with Galbraith and
Makenzie Coughlin (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) each totaling nine.
The Presidents will take part in a PAC tri-match on Saturday, Sept. 16, traveling to Saint Vincent (11 a.m.) and also competing against Thomas More (1 p.m.).
