FROSTBURG, Md. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team defeated Frostburg State, 2-0, in a nonconference match on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The Presidents improve to 4-2 overall this season and they have won each of their last four games.

In just the sixth minute of the game,
Matt Kotkiewicz (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) blocked a kick taken by the Bobcats' keeper and tapped the ball into the net for the early score.

The game remained 1-0 in favor of W&J until the 74th minute when
Jacob Fetterman (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) drove a shot under the keeper to cap the scoring in the game.

Kotkiewicz's and Fetterman's goals came on their only shots in the game.

Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson),
Connor Anderson (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore) and
Michael DeSabato (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) all put their only shots of the game on goal.

Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) got the win in net for the Presidents as he made two saves to record his first shutout of the year and third of his career.

After outshooting Frostburg State 5-3 in the second half, W&J held an 8-7 edge in total shots for the game including a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal.

The Presidents will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 20, when they travel to nonconference foe Franciscan in a 5:00 p.m. showdown.
