WASHINGTON, Pa. – A career-high four points from
Jenna Jaworski (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) led the Washington & Jefferson field hockey team to a 4-0 Empire 8 Conference win over Nazareth on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Â
The Presidents improve to 4-3 overall with a 3-0 mark in E8 play while the Golden Flyers fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
Â
The first W&J goal came in the 14th minute when

Â
Leading 1-0 in the second half, Jaworski and
Alana Boyd (Alexandria, Va./Thomas Edison) had a two-on-one advantage in the 56th minute. After a series of passes between the two, Boyd fired a shot which found room between the keeper's legs for her third goal of the campaign. Eight minutes later, Jaworski capped her career high day with an unassisted goal after gathering a loose ball in the box and scoring to the keeper's left.
Â
Ashley Overton (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) provided the final W&J tally less than two minutes later with her third goal of the season. Buyan found Overton on a pass in the middle of the box after gathering a rebounded shot herself.
Â
Jaworski's goal was her second of this season to go along with her first career multi-assist game while her four points in the game were the second most by a player this season. Her goal was one of three shots on net and one of five total shots in the game.
Â
Buyan's goal was her sixth of the year, extending her team-leading mark, as she also tallied five shots and three on target.
