BETHANY, W.Va. – The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team fell to Bethany in four sets (25-19, 26-24, 20-25, 25-15) on Tuesday, Sept. 26, in a road Presidents' Athletic Conference match.

The loss drops the Presidents to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in PAC matches while the Bison improve to 11-6 overall with a 4-1 mark against conference counterparts.

Julia Bernesser (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) finished with nine kills to lead the Presidents while
Abbey Eich (Greencastle, Pa./St. Maria Goretti (Md.)) tallied seven for the offense.

Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) the W&J with 31 assists to go along with 10 digs and two kills.
Julia Galbraith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) and
Makenzie Coughlin (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) anchored the Presidents' defense with 18 and 17 digs, respectively, while
Katie Conner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) and
Makenzie McConnell (Bessemer, Pa./Mohawk) each finished with double digit digs.

Madison Lydic (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) also provided a strong defensive effort, posting six total blocks.

The Presidents will return to the court when they host Westminster on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in a 7:00 p.m. PAC contest.
