LATROBE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team was set back by Saint Vincent, 61-53, in Presidents' Athletic Conference competition on Wednesday night, Jan. 20.

After falling behind by a 7-0 score, the Presidents answered quickly with seven points of their own to tie the game. Over the next 4:05, the Bearcats built their lead back up to nine points at 16-7 with 11:00 to play. For the remainder of the half, the Presidents outscored the Bearcats 14-11 to cut the deficit down to six points heading into halftime, 27-21.

Throughout more than the first 10 minutes of the second half, the Bearcats gradually extended their lead over the Presidents to 16 points, 49-33. W&J fought back over the final 9:26, trimming the Bearcats' lead to as little as seven points with 2:39 left on the clock, but it was not enough as Saint Vincent held off the late W&J rally by outscoring the Presidents, 7-6, from that point on to yield the final result.

Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley) recorded the ninth double-double of his career and first of season as the senior posted a season-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field to go along with a season-high 10 rebounds plus a pair of blocks.

Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) finished with nine points and connected on 3-of-7 shot attempts while pulling down three rebounds and dishing out three assists and
Mitch DeZort (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) scored six points with three boards and two steals.

The Presidents defended the three-point arc well, limiting the Bearcats to just 2-for-12 shooting from outside, while also winning the rebound battle by a 45-37 margin, including a 17-9 edge on the offensive glass, helped by eight and seven rebounds from
Brian Graytok (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and
Nicholas Campalong (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge), respectively.

W&J will be back on the court on Saturday, Jan. 27, for a road PAC matchup with Grove City, tipping off at 3:00 p.m.
